The Bariatric Surgery Program is comprised of surgeons with expertise in minimally invasive bariatric weight loss surgery, who provide their patients with alternatives to achieve health weight loss. As part of the Sina PCC Weight Loss Center our surgical team specializes in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. This involves smaller incisions, less pain and faster recovery times for patients.

The medical center’s recognized expertise in the field resulted in the selection of Cedars-Sinai’s Weight Loss Center as a site for testing the novel Lap-Band procedure. This minimally invasive procedure is used to treat obesity and is now FDA approved.

The multidisciplinary expert team at Sina PCC’s Weight Loss Center recognizes that severe obesity is a complex, chronic disease that has many causes and no simple explanations. The Center’s surgeons stay abreast of research findings and technological advances in the field. Team members are themselves authors of numerous papers and presentations on a variety of subjects, including laparoscopic surgery.

In addition, our Bariatric surgeons participate in community education through the Weight Loss Center’ free Education Conferences that are open to anyone interested in learning more about surgical options for weight loss.
